While China, which is struggling with a wider gender ratio of 118 boys for every 100 girls, a Chinese professor has given a bizarre solution to bridge the gender gap. He suggested lower income men to share their wives.
What is the issue?
Currently there are over 30 million single Chinese men who cannot find a wife. This can have a detrimental effect over society and can also increase the anti-social and violent behavior. Xie Zuoshi, a professor with the School of Economics and International Trade at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, has also seen as a economic problem and suggested that the problem can be resolved by allowing low-income earning men to share their wives.
According to him, the polyandry would be a perfect solution to solve the 30 million single men’s sexual needs, which he believed could be the most important factor in igniting social unrest.
