Amid rising fears of Islamic extremism, West Africa country Senegal is considering banning women from wearing the burqa.
What the issue is?
The interior minister of Sengal cited that the decision was a question of national security and was designed to prevent terrorists from using the burqa as a disguise. According to him now women would no longer be allowed to wear the burqa, which leaves only the eyes exposed. The Senegal fears that the Islamic militant group like Boko Haram can be entered into the country.
An estimated 92% of Senegal’s population is Muslim. This year two more countries Cameron and Chad which have a substantial largely population of Muslim issued similar orders citing similar reasons.
