1-Andhra Pradesh Government launched Giriputrika Kalyana Pathakam Scheme for tribal people

The Andhra Pradesh Government has launched Giriputrika Kalyana Pathakam Scheme to support the tribal women in their quest for livelihood. The scheme seeks to reduce rampant infant mortality and child marriages and provide one time financial assistance of 50000 rupees to each tribal woman who gets married.

3-China to develop new  ‘exascale’ supercomputer

China is planning to develop an “exascale” supercomputer. It will be capable of performing more than a billion calculations per second. This supercomputer will be 1,000 times more powerful than China’s Tianhe-1A, which was identified as the world’s fastest computing system in 2010.

4-15 countries lose United Nations voting rights due to arrearsBan Ki-moon

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has informed the General Assembly that 15 countries including oil producer Venezuela are in arrears in paying their annual contribution to the UN regular budget and they can’t vote in the 193-member world body unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Scientists have reconstructed the genome of the plague by using DNA recovered from the teeth of plague victims to understand its origin. The Black Death, the mid-14 century plague is considered to be one of the most devastating pandemics in the history of mankind. In just 5 years, the disease managed to take over all of Europe and it killed approximately 50 percent of total population.
