Sharad Joshi, the crusader for the cause of poor farmers and their economic upliftment is no more now.
What the actual story is?
He was an economist in the UN. He left his job to work among farmers of the country so he could use his academic prowess for the betterment of the masses tilling the soil unprofitably. He led several protests in Maharashtra and other states for the farmers’ rights and anti-farmers’ govt policies. He was also a columnist for leading dailies like The Times of India, Business India, and Lokmat. He also authored many books on agricultural issues.
He was the founder of Swatantra Bharat Paksh party and Shetkari Sanghatana.
