Booker prize winner, Arundhati Roy has slammed Narendra Modi government and alleged that the PM is promoting “Brahmanism” in the country.
What the actual story is?
Ms Roy faced huge protests by the activists of BJP’s student wing, Akhil Bhartiya vidyarthi parishad (ABVP), who staged a noisy protest at the venue where she was awarded with Mahatma Phule Samata Puraskar. After receiving the award, Roy slammed the atmosphere of intolerance. According to her, the situation in the country is such that the word intolerance is not sufficient to describe it. Roy who recently returned her National award for screenplay which she received in 1989, said. She further stated that the minorities in the country are living in fear. She slammed Modi government for promoting “Brahmanism” in the name of Hindu Rashtravad.
While talking over the concerns over the security of writers she said, it is not secure for writers like us. There are chances of getting attacked.
