Vile Simon James, 46, Personal trainer jailed for five years for knowingly infecting two professional women with HIV.
What the actual story is?
He contracted the HIV virus in 1995 but failed to use contraception, attend hospital appointments or take his antiretroviral medication. Afterwards he had unprotected sex with two future girlfriends around 15 years later without telling them about his illness. Tragically, he passed the infection on to the two professional women. On two occasions when his HIV status was discovered he claimed he was allergic to latex condoms and that he was taking his medication. He also insisted unprotected sex with him was safe and that he had never infected anyone before.
It is the first conviction of its kind and it is only the third time a jury have reached a guilty verdict for this offence in UK legal history.
