Kurdish director Kaiwan Karimi has been sentenced to six years imprisonment by an Iran’s revolutionary court for filming a kissing scene.
He was blamed to insult the sacred values and promote illegitimate relations and contact through kissing.
What was the issue?
Director Kaiwan Karimi, who has made a number of award-winning feature films in the last several years, has made a film which is based on the government, the social conditions and working class people.
The director asserted that the kissing scene for which he was sentenced was just an idea and he discussed it with the actress, but both never reached an agreement and this scene was not filmed.
