Asus Zenfone 6 Review: After 1 month of use!

I have been using the Asus Zenfone 6 for one month, it can be an excellent companion that makes me excited with all the good features. The flip camera that was actually breaking the headlines is much impressive.

Asus added the new series which is now popularly known by the name Asus Zenfone 6. The phone was in headlines because of the flip camera and many of the people like me are excited about that. So I decided to share the actual review of this smartphone.

Asus Zenfone 6 is popularly known by the Asus 6z, the phone is affordable as the manufacturers always promise to offer affordable prices. Asus Zenfone is a new class attention-grabbing Android, which is a little different from the previous Asus Zenfone series. Asus made its entry with three devices which are actually below Rs 20000.

Build and Design

Asus is following the same design strategy with all the Zenfone series. Asus Zenfone 6 is matte finish with a plastic body on the backside. The design of Zenfone 6 is not much impressive, we can say it is the same as Zenfone 4 and 5. Well! The phone in hand feels good and provides a good grip. Zenfone 6 has 6 inches of the screen as compared to Xiaomi Mi3, LG G3, and Gionee Elife E7. Asus could have made the phone more attractive by improving its design. Zenfone 6 back is prone to scratches, the person can’t put the keys and phone in the same pocket. Therefore, the suggestion for Zenfone 6 can be improved by making the screen longer instead of wider. The dual sim slots are provided at the back of the phone, where battery remains inbuilt. If you are a person of my type then you’ll definitely go for the uniqueness, therefore Zenfone 6 has its own identity but according to me, the device can’t be said as a gaming phone.

It is impossible to talk about the Zenfone 6 without addressing the camera since we majorly nowadays selfie addict, we give more priority to the camera. The Asus Zenfone 6 camera serves double duty for the selfies as well as standard photos. It offers a

full-screen display free of slightest of bezels with a punch hole in sight. As Zenfone 5 the

phone also has 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2580 with a dual-core processor, the performance of both the series 6 and 7 is quite the same. The phone takes a couple of seconds for a

pop-up camera, it has an LCD display. The phone also has a noticeable chin at the bottom of the display but can’t be said as big as Pixel 3.

There are some issues with Zenfone 6, it was noticed that the brightness of the phone will be maximum up to 600nits, so one has to keep its phone on the maximum brightness level throughout the time. The second issue is the LCD display, most of the high-end smartphones OLED panels for better battery life and features. The LCD display drains more battery and reduces the dynamic range.

  • Octa-Core
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
  • MicroSD expandable storage
  • Adreno 640 GPU
  • 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM
  • 64 GB and 256 GB storage

The device has a lightweight software experience which helps in keeping the device work fast, and also 6 GB and 8 GB RAM allows you to multitask without forcing any app to shut down in case of memory, but the phone gets hot when you’ll use any

high-definition game, the bad thing that you will regret in buying the Zenfone 6 is overheating and stoppage of charging due to overheating. The high-definition game can make this device hot. Therefore, the Zenfone 6 did very well in benchmarks.

  • 5000 mAh
  • No wireless charging
  • Qualcomm Quick Charge 0

The battery life of Zenfone 6 is more than the average. It is noticed that battery life is a maximum of 6 hours. The big issue is only with the phone is overheating and draining. The phone seems to have a high-level of standby drain as compared to the other phones. Zenfone 6 device drains the battery so fast, it also takes a while to charge up. It has a wired charging. Other than this we don’t have any complaints about battery. I have not come across in such conditions where this smartphone lacks power or anything which goes more with more pleasure.

What can be more fun than this if your device rotation is up to 180 degrees for taking a perfect image? I actually loved the automated panorama mode, where the camera works so smart where it moves for capturing the scenic view, and finally, the pop-up feature of Zenfone controls the overly which allows me to use the other apps too. Isn’t interesting? The more you go with zenfone the more you find it interesting the HDR effective of this phone is good whereas clicking the pictures at night mode makes my pictures brighter, clean, and blur-free. Well, the portrait mode of this phone is really good and satisfactory with a great feature of removing the objects from the background.

The camera seems to be good when working on outdoor light conditions and fails when it doesn’t satisfy the light condition. Clicking pictures on low light seems to be dull sometimes also you will see the blurred image when your camera acts in low light. The pictures taken in sunlight seem to be satisfactory but definitely not the camera pictures are taken from 13 MP cameras. It is actually a versatile camera with 2x zoom and wider angle mode, and the edge detection makes my pictures more attractive in portrait mode.

Zenfone 6 Price and Availability

Asus Zenfone 6 price starts from Rs 29,990 INR, the affordable price Asus Zenfone 6 attracts the customer which has a variety of features, the mobile feature has 6 default colours. The price of Zenfone seems to be reasonable and it is also available on different online stores in India.

Final Verdict

The performance and features of Zenfone 6 are enough to add this in your cart. The features are more than enough. This is one of the best android phones with comparable performance and high profile Android. It costs less as compared to many of the Androids. Asus has delivered a lot of great features that can attract customers but can’t say that Asus Zenfone 6 is a clear winner.

Well! Spending a few weeks with Asus Zenfone 6 and it is quite interesting to see Asus came up with new features that sprinkled with a couple of headlines though, using the trendy design with a justified price. The Asus Zenfone camera flip in this series is the unique addition that makes the device to stand out, you can have a pretty good picture in daylight. After using this phone for a month, I can say buying it can be a smart decision, especially for those who focus on battery life and the software. Therefore, the device easily holds its own this year and it can be a smart choice too.
