So here is the world most expensive biscuit. Don’t get shocked. The Spillers and Bakers ”Pilot” biscuit which survived the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 has been sold for INR 14,8500 (£15,000) at an auction and now it is considered as the most valuable cracker on the planet.
So what the matter is?
The RMS Titanic was sunk over 100 years ago. It claimed hundreds of lives which were lost in the icy cold waters of the Atlantic. It was one of the most unfortunate accidents that will always haunt us.
However, after the ship’s demise, a survival kit was found in a rescued lifeboat where this biscuit was found. The Spillers and Bakers ”Pilot” biscuit had survived such a disastrous event. The biscuit was kept by James Fenwick, who was a passenger on-board. He put the biscuit in a Kodak photographic envelope and written a note, which stated ”Pilot biscuit from Titanic lifeboat April 1912.” Astounding fact is this biscuit has survived for 103 long years. Isn’t it also surprising??? Think!!
