The White House challenged North Korea’s claim that it has tested a hydrogen bomb.
According to White House press secretary Josh Earnest, the U.S. analysis so far shows the test was not consistent with a hydrogen bomb. The United Nations Security Council issued a strong statement condemning North Korea’s test, saying it a clear threat to international peace and security. It has also accused North Korea has violated four existing U.N. resolutions. UN also repeated that it would begin immediately working on a new resolution that would broaden existing sanctions against North Korea.
North Korea has tested nuclear weapons in 2006, 2009 and 2013.
