FTII Strike and FTII Mahabharat-Now Protest in Goa Through Film

In an Interesting turn of event, the students from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) are planning to organize screenings of films like ‘FTII Strike’ and ‘FTII Mahabharat’ and other documentaries during the International Film Festival of India which is due to hold in Goa.

What the issue is?

The students form FTII went on a protest, which stretched over five-month to oppose the appointment of the TV actor Gajendra Chauhan as chairperson of Film and Television Institute of India. Both above mentioned films are based on their own 139-day long strike.

During the strike, student made the films and documentaries, capturing different moods and perspectives. The students are also planning to interact with international delegates and share their point of view with them.

Apart from Chauhan’s appointment, students had also opposed the reconstituted FTII panel where four of the eight persons are closely linked to the RSS.
