10 lakh new volunteers for cow protection

Bajrang Dal – a right wing Hindu outfit has kicked off a campaign to engage 10 lakh new volunteers to scale up its cow protection program across the country.

What is the issue?

Bajrang Dal which was founded in 1984 has always come to the forefront for cow protection. The organization is claimed to protect around one lakh cow every year from slaughterers.

This right-wing outfit, which claimed to have more than 15 lakhs volunteers, is already re-training three lakh of  its volunteers to protect the cow and it mission is to soon cross the membership of over 25 lakhs. The organization has also planned to have lakhs of its volunteers in all districts to take a renewed cow protection. The cow has always a sacred animal for Hindus.
