According t Cultural Ministry report, Ahmedabad has been selected for the UNESCO world heritage city tag from India. India has no UNESCO-recognised world heritage city till date.

2-Snow falls in Kuwait for first time ever

In rapidly changing global climate, snow fell on Kuwait on Thursday morning for the first time in the country’s history. Temperatures in Kuwait soar up to 50C in the summer months and even in winter 20C is the normal. However, on Thursday the temperature was low as 3C.

The panoramic selfie is made up of 57 different photos taken by Curiosity while the vehicle was climbing a hill.

4-Ancient Babylonians were the first to use geometry

Ancient Babylonians were the first users of geometry. It was revealed in a study of five Babylonian clay tablets. The study said that the ancient Babylonian priests living between 350 BC and 50 BC used a complex form of geometry to calculate the movements of Jupiter.

5-Resistance to HIV Drug Growing, Study FindsHIV AIDS

A report published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases says that HIV resistance to the antiretroviral drug tenofovir is increasing. The researchers said their finding is alarming because the drug plays a major role in treating and preventing infection with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

6-Google is testing solar-powered drones for 5G

Under a project named ‘SkyBender,’ Google is reportedly testing solar-powered drones to deliver high-speed internet from the air. Google is using these drones to experiment with a technology that could possibly form 5G wireless internet.

7-Driverless bus tested on Netherlands for the first timeDriverless bus

Netherlands  has tested a trial of driverless bus on its public road. Driverless shuttle bus WePod transported six passengers along a 200-meter stretch of road in Netherlands.

8-Storm Gertrude cause chaos across parts of UK

Storm Gertrude is said to be sweeping across parts of the UK with winds of more than 100mph causing damage to buildings, travel disruption and power cuts. At least 1,800 homes are without power in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Trains, flights and ferries have been cancelled and roads and bridges shut. There are also flood warnings across the UK.

German player Angelique Kerber defeated reigning champion and current World number one Serena Williams to clinch her first Australian Open title.

10- Facebook has banned private gun salesFacebook1

Facebook Inc has decided to prohibit people from using its social network for private gun sales. Facebook also has similar restrictions on other regulated goods like prescription and illegal drugs.
