1-Chhattisgarh wins the award for best performer during Digital India Week 2015

Chattisgarh has been selected as the best performer state across the nation for digitalising services at Lok Seva Kendras and Common Service Centers during the time of the Digital India Week 2015. Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya got second and third positions.

2-December 25 is celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’

Marking the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the government has celebrated the good governance day on 25th December. This day is also birth anniversary of late freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya.

3-Archaeologists unearth gold plates and coins of Han dynasty in east China

Archeologists have unearthed gold coins and plates from a 2000 year old Han dynasty tomb which is situated in Nanchang, the Jiangxi province in east China. This tomb is date back to the Western Han dynasty 206 BC to 24 AD and thought to belong to Liu He.

4-Indigenously developed Air-to-Air missile Astra successfully tested

Indigenously developed India’s first Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile, Astra has been successfully test fired from coast of Odisha near the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Balasore. The missile is expected to be inducted into the Air Force in 2016.

5-China bans one child policy

China has ditched its controversial one child policy. Chinese lawmakers have now allowed couples to have 2 children. It has ended the 35 years old policy which prevented more than 400 million births in China.

6-‘Operation Inherent Resolve’ launched on Christmas Day against ISIS

The US hit Islamic State group targets in Iraq and Syria with 17 airborne strikes on Christmas day under ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’.

7-China adopted first counter-terrorism law in history

China on 27th December 2015 has adopted the first counter-terrorism law named Anti-Terrorism Bill, 2015. The law grants massive powers to security agencies.

8-‘Game of Thrones’ becomes most pirated TV series of 2015

According to piracy-tracking site TorrentFreak, American TV series ‘Game of Thrones’ has become the most pirated television show of the year 2015.  The second most illegally downloaded TV series was ‘The Walking Dead’,  and third was ‘The Big Bang Theory.’

9- Women and Child Development Ministry has launched e-office

Women and Child Development Ministry of India has launched e-office. Under this system the files are processed electronically as per the specified procedure and hierarchy. The new system will reduce the time to process a file from 30-40 days to 4-5 days.

10- Bihar government bans all kinds of sirens

The Bihar government has banned the use of all kinds of sirens on vehicles in the state to curb reduce noise pollution. However ambulances, fire brigade, the vehicles of the Governor and judges have been exempted from the ban.
