1-PM Modi inaugurates India-built Afghan Parliament

PM Narendra Modi along with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani inaugurated Afghanistan’s new Parliament complex. It was built by India. India started the project in 2007 to help Afghanistan’s rebuilding process after the wars.

2-NGT orders railway to set emission limit

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Railways and Environment ministries to set standards for emissions by diesel locomotive engines in the country. NGT has asked for a report on the matter within six weeks.

4-Gurgaon puts ban on diesel vehicle registration

Following the Supreme Court’s recent directions, Gurgaon is planning to ban registration of diesel-run vehicles. The decision is aimed at improving air quality in Delhi-NCR while also encouraging a shift to CNG vehicles.

Veteran Bollywood actress Sadhana passed away at the age of 74. Her trademark hairstyle ‘Sadhana cut’ became popular in the 60s. She was awarded IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002.

Bihar government banned 15-year-old diesel vehicles from plying in the Capital, Patna. The decision was made during the review meeting of the environment and forests department under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

7- UN adopted resolution to observe 5 November as World Tsunami Awareness Day

The United Nations General Assembly on 22 December 2015 adopted a resolution to observe 5 November every year as World Tsunami Awareness Day.The proposal was first suggested by the Japanese Government.

8- ‘Crop Insurance’ and ‘AgriMarket Mobile’-Government launched two Mobile Apps for Farmers

For the benefit of farmers, Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh has launched two mobile apps namely Crop Insurance and AgriMarket Mobile. These apps were launched to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Choudhary Charan Singh.

9- Scientists discover Artificial Neural Network system

Beijing scientists have discovered an Artificial Neural Network system. This is an information processing system that replicates the functioning of the biological brain and has application domains such as Artificial Intelligence, decision support system, signal processing and automatic control.
