1-SpaceX mission Falcon successful

SpaceX has sent a Falcon rocket in space with 11 small satellites on 21st December and it landed on earth safely. This marks the first time an unmanned rocket returned to land vertically at FLorida’s Cape Canaveral.

2-Zimbabwe announced to adopt Chinese currency Yuan

Zimbabwe has planned to adopt the Chinese Yuan as legal tender. It will be done in return for debt cancellation worth 40 million dollars by China. Now Yuan will be a function of trade between China and Zimbabwe and acceptability with customers in Zimbabwe.  

3-US will place Panthera leo leo, a breed of lion found in India and Africa in endangered species list

US Fish and Wildlife service has placed a sub-species of lion Panthera leo leo located in India and western and central Africa as endangered to curb dramatic decline of their population.

4-Andy Murray wins BBC Sports Personality of the Year award in 2015

Tennis player Andy Murray has won the 2015 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. He won the award based on a public vote. He had received the previous award in 2013

5-Novak Djokovic and  Serena Williams bag the Men’s World Champion and women’s World Champion award in winners of 2015 World Champions awards organized  by International Tennis Federation.

6-Nitish Kumar approved Patna Metro Rail project

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has approved Patna Metro Rail project’s proposal. The Metro proposal aims at two corridors in the first phase covering a total distance of 31km.

7- CCEA approved 3000-crore rupees scheme for integrated development and management of fisheries

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval for implementation of an umbrella scheme for integrated development and management of fisheries. The scheme will be implemented at an outlay of 3000 crore rupees, for a period of five years. It will cover development and management of inland fisheries, aquaculture, marine fisheries and all activities undertaken by the National Fisheries Development Board.

8- Union Cabinet approved Lucknow Metro Rail Project Phase-1A

Union Cabinet has approved the Lucknow Metro Rail Project Phase-1 A. The project will be implemented by the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC), which will be reconstituted into a 50:50 jointly owned company of Union Government and Government of Uttar Pradesh.

9- Philippines became first Asian country to approve world’s first-ever dengue vaccine Dengvaxia

The Philippines became the first Asian country to approve the sale of the world’s first-ever dengue vaccine named Dengvaxia. Dengvaxia, manufactured by French pharmaceutical company Sanofi.

10- GoI informed that energy sector in nation biggest Green House Gas emitter

Government informed Parliament that energy sector in the nation is the biggest emitter of Green House Gases. Energy sector contributed to 58% of the overall emissions in the nation while the share of industry was pegged at 22% followed by 17% from the agriculture sector.
