1-Supreme Court suggested Parliament to enact separate law for child rape

Supreme Court has suggested the Parliament to enact a separate law to deal with child rape cases. The suggestion was given after hearing a writ petition filed by the Supreme Court Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA). The petition appealed the court to include castration as an additional punishment for those who commit child rape.

2-First commercial airport for drones is announced

World’s first commercial airport for drones is named Eldorado Droneport which will be sitauted in Nevada, US. The operational droneport will also offer training, maintenance and other support functions to the commercial and individual drone pilots.

3-National Youth Day is observed across the India

The birthday of Swami Vivekanand is celebrated as National Youth Day in India. He is the founder of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission. He has also represented India at the US Parliament of the World Religions in 1893.

Telangana became the first State in India to introduce compulsory gender education at the graduate level. The state has introduced a bilingual textbook titled ‘Towards a World of Equals.’

5-Devender Kumar Sikri appointed as the Chairman of Competition Commission of IndiaDevender Kumar Sikri

Devender Kumar Sikri has sworn in as the Chairman of Competition Commission of India (CCI).  He will have tenure of about two and half years, that is, till he attains the age of 65 years.

6-Kullu’s Nati folk dance entered Guinness Book of World Records

The Nati folk dance of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest folk dance in the world in terms of participants. Total 9892 women participated in this folk dance in their traditional colourful Kulluvi on 26 October 2015 during International Dussehra festival.

7-Kerala becomes first state to achieve 100% primary education

10-Chinese scientists develop shape shifting polymer

Chinese scientists have developed shape shifting polymer that can be used to produce heart brackets or surgical equipment to help to eliminate blood clot thrombosis. It is developed at Zhejiang University and it can differentiate between different preset shapes under specific conditions.
