How to backup BlogSpot blog (Blogger Site)

Blogger is a blog-publishing platform from Google where you can create blogs for free. It is a very good platform for a newbie to start a free blog. But, like every good things in this world, blogger too has its disadvantages. One of the biggest disadvantages of blogger is that Google can delete your blog at any time. It is possible when your blog is involved in spamming or when it does not comply with Blogspot TOS.

To take a complete backup of your blogger blog follow these simple steps:

1. Log into your blogger account and select the blog you want to take the backup of.

2. Select settings from the bottom-left side and click on others.

3. On the top you will find Blog tools, click on export blog from there and download your complete blog.

4. Your backup file is now saved in your PC. Use it whenever you want. You can also save it on Google drive or any other cloud storage to access it from anywhere. So,this is the simple method to Backup Blogspot Blog : Blogger Site.

How to restore BlogSpot blog/Blogger Site:-

If you want to restore this backup on your blogger blog, you can simply do that by using the import blog feature from blog tools.

If you are shifting your site from blogger to WordPress then you can upload this backup .xml file to your self-hosted WordPress blog. But this method is not recommended, because it can cause a huge mess on your blog. So, if you really want to migrate to WP, then use Blogger Importer Plugin to Import all blog posts from Blogger to WordPress.
