Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have suffered a big jolt when the Delhi High Court rejected their pleas for quashing the summons against them in the National Herald case. Here look at some important facts about this case.

1-The National Herald newspaper was started by Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru in 1938.

2-It suffered from financial troubles from the beginning and was shut down briefly in the 1940s and 1970s.

3- The alleged case of cheating and misappropriation of funds in taking control of the newspaper was filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and others.

4- Subramanian Swamy, has alleged that Sonia and Rahul broke the law to grab valuable properties in Delhi, including the office of National Herald. Some also suggested that scam could be to the tune of anywhere between Rs 1600 crore and Rs 5000 crore.
